Poster design in actionπŸ’₯

As a graphic designer, one of the most enjoyable challenges is crafting visual stories that capture attention and encapsulate a brand's essence. With their intrinsic beauty and vibrant colors, floral shops provide a rich tapestry to draw inspiration from.

Here are some ideas I had that could be conveyed with posters like these in marketing:

  • Seasonal Sensations: Design posters highlighting the seasonal flowers in the shop. Use soft, pastel backgrounds for spring, bright, bold colors for summer, deep, rich tones for autumn, and crisp blues and whites for winter.

  • Bouquet of the Day: Feature a daily or weekly unique bouquet. This showcases the florist's skill and encourages regular customer engagement.

  • Flower Care Tips: Educational posters offering advice on caring for the flowers once they're home can be helpful and visually appealing. Integrating QR codes that link to detailed care guides on the shop's website can add an interactive element.

  • Customer Creations: Encourage customers to share photos of how they've styled their purchases at home. Select a monthly customer photo to feature on the poster, creating a community feel and encouraging more interaction.

I created these example posters that could go well with these marketing strategies.

Recently, I had the honor of having my graphic poster selected as the official design for a pop-up event organized in collaboration with our school at the Forum Kortteli mall center. This event was a vibrant showcase of student creativity, featuring everything from posters to postcards, each telling its unique story.

The theme of my poster used abstract shapes and gradient colors in a pleasant pattern. I also spent significant time on my typography choices. Frankly, my main goal was to make the poster look cool 😎.

The event itself was a tremendous success. It provided a platform for students to showcase and sell their artwork. Including a professional photographer to take high-quality portraits added a unique touch, offering attendees a memorable takeaway through beautifully crafted photographs.

Witnessing the interaction between the public and the student artworks, seeing the genuine interest and conversations sparked by the designs, was incredibly fulfilling. It underscored the power of visual communication and the impact of well-crafted design in real-world applications.

This experience has been a significant milestone in my design journey, reinforcing my passion for graphic design and its potential to connect, engage, and inspire communities.
